Gifty Girl Birthday Card

Here is a cute birthday card for a girl.

Again, I used one of American Art Stamps by Karen Stolper called Gifty Girl as well as Memory Box's Hill stamp. I also used a mix of My Mind's Eye and SU! patterned paper.

SU! Markers were used to color fill the stamped image; Cameo Coral, Sage, Pumpkin Pie and Pretty in Pink as well as SU! ribbon.




The fun part of this card was making the flowers. I used various sized flower and scallop punches which I punched out from scraps of patterned paper I had laying around. I layered them using dimensionals to separate them and then added a little bling on top as well as glitter.

And finally a card...

The craft room is finally unpacked and about 90% in place but I just couldn't wait any longer to craft. It has been way too long! Also, with the monthly card swap looming over my head, I just had to getting my fingers dipped back in the ink pads.

I can't believe how long it took for me to complete this card. I have definitely lost my mojo! *sob*

With the daunting task of making a card for the first time in what feels like months, I looked for my all time favorite stamps, which come from American Arts. This specific stamp comes from the Karen Stolper collection named Rainy Day.

I used Close to Cocoa and Very Vanilla cardstock, Tres Jolle's Ooh Lah Lah double sided patterned paper from My Minds Eye, Certainly Celery, Pretty in Pink and Bashful Blue Markers.

I used a Versamark pen and colored over the pool of water and heat set Clear Embossing Powder. I applied three layers of the EP to give the water extra shine.

I then feathered all layers with a sponge and Close to Cocoa classic ink and used the paper piercing set from the Crafter's Tool Kit for the stitching and finished it off with the fine point of my Close to Cocoa marker.

How nice it was to make a card again!

Hopefully my mojo will come flooding back in the next day or so!

Karen Stolper July 4th card

For last weeks Sketch This card challenge (above) and for Beate's sketch challenge below, I challenged myself to use up some of my scraps.

For this card I used My Minds Eye's paper scraps and Karen Stolper's July 4th stamp from American Art Stamps. I also used Stampin' Up! Soft Sky and Chocolate Chip cardstock as well as their markers.

For this card I used Karen Stolper's "Gift/Ribbons" image from American Art Stamps, Lauren Collection paper from EK Success and Stampin' Up! Chocolate Chip paper, Markers and White gel pen as well as small Prima flowers with a Stampin' Up! Orange brad in each flower. Her dress has a light layer of Stickles Stardust Glitter glue.




This card is a fun one. I used Karen Stolper's "Hatbox Gift" stamp from American Art Stamps as well as the Stampin' Up! Cheesecloth background and Happy Everything stamp set. Paper from Stampin' Up! - Cool Caribbean and Chocolate Chip and My Minds Eye Designer paper. Stampin' Up! markers and White Gel pen and Fancy Pants flowers. I used Stampin' Up! Close to Cocoa in to distress the edges and stamp the sentiment.

Rainy Day

This is a card I made using Karen Stolper's "Rainy Day" image from American Art Stamps, Patterned Paper from DCWV, Stampin' Up!'s Shimmer White and Chocolate Chip. Stampin' Up! Markers for fill in of image, Paper Piercing tool set and White Gel Pen for Faux Stitching.

I know I have said it before, but i just ADORE these images from American Art Stamps (www.americanartstamp.com)!

I am not sure I will get much more crafting time in today as we are heading to a Greek Festival this afternoon for yummy food and a dance exhibition and I have to squeeze in some chores also....ho hum :-)

Beate's Sketch Challenge

This is the card I made for Beate's sketch challenge this week.

I used Karen Stolper's "Small Pastry Cake" stamp from American Art Stamps, My Minds Eye Designer double sided paper, Stampin' Up! Shimmery White cardstock, Brads and Markers (Pretty in Pink, Bashful Blue, Certainly Celery, Close to Cocoa and tempting Turquoise) as well as Prima Flowers.

Karen Stolper Irish birthday card

How fitting that my Karen Stolper stamp order arrived from American Art Stamps yesterday! Boy am I excited! You can bet on the fact that you will be seeing a lot of cards made with these stamps in the coming days :)

I have a very proud Irish friend celebrating a birthday this weekend and this new stamp is absolutely perfect for her. She loves everything Green...so of course, I had to make a Green card for her using my new little Irish friend.

I stamped him on Stampin' Up! Very Vanilla, colored him in with Stampin' Up! markers - Green Galore, Certainly Celery and Garden Green. Edges were distressed with Stampin' Up! Always Artichoke and matted on Always Artichoke cardstock. Designer paper from DCWV. Steckles Stardust Glitter was used on the Shamrock in his hand and on his hat. Faux stitching was done with the Stampin' Up! piercing set and white gel pen. Green brads from Stampin' Up! also.

Sentiment is stamped three times on the side of the image in Certainly Celery from Stampin' Up! Small Sayings stamp set.

I can't get enough of Karen Stolper's stamps!

I placed an order for more Karen Stolper stamps from American Art Stamps (yep, I knew I wouldn't be able to resist for too much longer) and they are on their way! I can't wait to play some more with these whimsical characters!

More Karen Stolper

I just love the Karen Stolper images I found the other day. This time, I paired this whimsically adorable cake giver with the Stampin' Up! Palette O Print papers, Markers and Ribbon. A little bit of faux stitching using Stampin' Up!'s totally cool crafter kit, as well as a little bit of doodling around the edges.

I love the way these turned out and think I will be making quite a few more of these soon.

I promise I will get back into my Stampin' Up! groove soon. I was slightly distracted by my new stamps...how can you blame a girl?? :-)

Talking about Stampin' Up!, have you received your Fall/Winter preview catalog? I received mine in the mail today and I can say, I am REALLY looking forward to the fully fledged Fall/Winter catalog coming out!

Oh la la..Karen Stolper designed stamps by American Art Stamps

Oh my goodness...I went to my local stamp store to buy a couple of small items I needed and while doing the mandatory perusal of the stamp aisles, which I must admit, I had no intentions of buying any stamps, I found some wonderful new stamps on the shelves and I nearly squealed out loud!

American Art Stamps has a fantastic designer by the name of Karen Stolper, who has created these wonderfully whimsical characters, which I just adore. I did exercise constraint and bought only three, but my desire for more of them will overrule me quickly i suspect!
